What Unites Christians (151-160)

Let's look at ten more things that all Christians believe.

151. The Seeing will be Blind

Jesus came to reverse many things. “I came into this world for judgment, that those who don't see may see; and that those who see may become blind.” (John 9:39)

152. The Door of the Sheep

All Christians believe that Jesus is the door to the sheepfold, as He said, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep's door. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn't listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.” (John 10:7-9)

153. Jesus’ Voice

All Christians agree that the most important voice in Christianity is that of Jesus, because, “the sheep listen to his voice.” (John 10:3)

154. Life Abundantly

All Christians believe that Jesus came, “that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

155. The Good Shepherd

All Christians believe that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, because He set the right example of true leadership. “The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)

156. The Harvest

All Christians agree that there are never enough people to help in church work, and that , “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few.” (Luke 10:2)

157. Rejection

All Christians believe that those who reject the servants of Jesus, reject Jesus and those who reject Him reject God the Father. “Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.” (Luke 10:16)

158. Written in Heaven

All Christians understand that though we naturally rejoice in the work of God done in us, we should “rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:20b)

159. Love God and Neighbor

All Christians believe that the greatest commandments in the whole Old Testament are, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27 cf. Matthew 27:37-40; Mark 12:32-33)

160. Who is Our Neighbor

All Christians believe that the answer to the question, who is our neighbor, is the story of the Good Samaritan, a national enemy, who cared for a robbery victim after two Jewish religious leaders had passed him by. (Luke 10:30-37)
